Flex Logix, the eFPGA IP company, has won a slot in a deep learning IC being made on TSMC’s  16nmFFC process by Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Flex Logix and the Harvard researchers have already completed the chip design and tape-out and are now going to fab.

“This cooperation with Harvard’s researchers highlights the wide range of applications that can be addressed by our EFLX embedded FPGA technology,” says Flex Logix CEO Geoff Tate, “deep learning has the potential to grow significantly.”

Harvard  joins Flex Logix customers such as DARPA who have chosen the EFLX platform to update RTL which enables chips to evolve as needed for changing algorithms and standards.

Embedded FPGA eliminates these potential setbacks by providing engineers the flexibility to update or change RTL at any time after fabrication, even in-system.
