Mini 3 and 5W encapsulated ac-ac power for household appliances

Minmax is aiming at household appliances with 3W (AAF-03) and 5W (AAF-05) encapsulated power modules safety approved for EN60950-1 (ITE) and EN60335-1 (household appliance).
Size is ~ 26 x 26 x 16mm for the PCB-mount version, and there is chassis-mount option with terminal strips available on 5W models.
“Their small size offers designers the opportunity to reduce overall PCB layout area or add more features, and safety approvals make them ideal for industrial and household electronics applications,” claimed the firm.
They are all universal ac input, single dc output supplies, with a choice of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 or 24V out, and efficiency up to 83%. There is no minimum load (no load consumption is <150mW) and operation is over -25 to +70°C.
Protection class is II, so no safety ground needed, and input-output isolation is 3kVac with “highest reinforced insulation”, said the firm.
Protection includes overload, voltage and short circuit protection, and the built-in EMC filter complies with EN55011/22 Class B and FCC Level B emissions with IEC 61000-4-2/3/4/5/6/8/11 immunity.
“All models are recognised to UL/cUL/EN/CB 60950-1, IEC/EN/CB 60335 and bear the CE Mark,” said the firm, adding: “All products are Reach, RoHS, hazardous substance process management – IECQ QC 080000 – and conflict mineral free compliant, and supported by a 3 Year Warranty.”
