Automotive AEC-Q200 ceramic capacitors stretched to 4kV

Syfer has added higher voltage ceramic capacitors to its AEC-Q200 series of MLCCs, extending maximum working voltage in the series from 2kV up to 4kV.
“Designed for electric vehicle applications where ever higher voltages are needed, but where a margin for derating has to be accommodated for, they are ideal for power train use, like battery management and invertors,” claimed the firm.
Available in X7R dielectric with capacitance up to 22nF, they come as standard with Pb-free, RoHS and REACH compliant, ‘FlexiCap’ termination for crack prevention and withstanding a high number thermal cycles.
For automotive applications that require high-Q, low loss MLCC’s the firm’s ‘X8G HighQ’ series now also has AEC-Q200 qualification.
HighQ parts have a copper electrode for optimum performance at high frequencies, and are rated to work over -55ºC to +150ºC, covering 0.3pF to 100pF, and including devices rated at up to 500V. “They will also find a home in many other applications such as networking and Wi-Fi, as well as use in safety systems such as radar,” said the firm, adding that there are Pb-free RoHS and REACH compliant termination options.
