Micro Crystal is offering a lower ESR (effective series resistance) version of its tuning-fork 32.768 kHz crystal, claiming that the low impedance crystals “extend the oscillator safety margin, where standard crystals are on the limit”.
With hermetic sealing (gold-tin preform, ceramic package, metal lid), it operates under vacuum.
Application is expected in : wearables, activity bands, IoT, smart pens, industry, health care devices. “Automotive grade devices are ideal for: emergency call units and remote key-less entry systems,” it added.
