Reset chip draws 1μA

Designed to support the supervisory circuits of microprocessors, the APX803L micro-power voltage detector from Diodes offers a detection between 1.2 and 5.0V in 0.1V steps, while consuming 1μA (typ, 2.5μA max).

Threshold accuracy is ±1.5%, and no external components are required.

Whenever the monitored power supply rail drops below the chosen threshold, the APX803L asserts a reset signal within 20μs that is held until the supply rail recovers to a level above the threshold.

The device’s reset pin provides an open-drain, active-low output with device ordering options that allow for delay times of 0ms, 55ms, 220ms, or 450ms.

Diodes APX803LIt is available in 3-pin SOT23, SOT323, or SC59, or a 5pin SOT25.

The APX803S is similar, but draws 10μA. The L and S variants replace the earlier APX803 and APS803/D.

According to the firm, the APX803L is intended for computers and communications equipment, but in particularly portable battery-powered devices. “The APX803L’s low quiescent current also makes it very attractive when appliances like televisions are operating in stand-by mode,” it said.
