Imec looks to China to expand customer base

Imec is looking for customers in China.
China is in need of advanced processes for the huge memory fabs it is building in the country.
Ding suggests that these fabs will have to look for their process technology to sources outside China.
Imec also brings with it its ecosystem of the industry’s leading device manufacturers plus the equipment and materials manufacturers, says Ding.
The head of Imec China, Huiwen Ding, points out that Imec has almost completed development of its 7nm process technology and is engaged in developing 5nm, 3nm and 2nm processes.
