A cyber security awareness initiative is taking place across the UK this week.
Called Cyber Resilience Week, it is intended to raise awareness of how organisations can be more resilient to cyber threats.
Minister for Digital Matt Hancock writes:
“We have world-leading businesses, but recent cyber attacks have shown the serious effects of not getting cyber security right.”
Organised by the Digital Leaders group, it is taking place from the 11th to the 15th of September with 40 events across the UK designed to help businesses large and small to build stronger networks and how to manage effective resilience for their organisations.
Robin Knowles, CEO Digital Leaders, believes business leaders have “a key role to play in protecting our most valuable and precious information – the information that drives our future success.”
“We need to work harder to ensure cyber resilience is accepted as a part of everything that we do,” said Knowles.
Topics will cover GDPR; the power of your people and their behaviours; culture and cyber; charities and local government; cyber crime; public sector and cloud based cyber-resilient services; SMEs and protecting your business; boardroom skills; keeping our communities safe online and the internet of things.
